Qatr El Nada Home

The house was architecturally developed by the client’s father and situated on the outskirts of Cairo.  The style of architecture is based on that of Hassan Fathi, with brick domes to keep areas cool in the summer. Another distinctive feature in the house are the skylights incorporated throughout the space, making it light and airy.

We were given the Greek islands as an inspiration point, one of the client’s favorite travel destinations. This design aspiration was achieved by adding rough textured-walls, pebble flooring to the edges of the rooms, and natural materials such as unfinished wood and stone.  The color palette for the house remained neutral, with earth tone colored walls and floors, and white linen curtains.
